Most injuries are a result of stressful and inefficient use of oneself. Physicist, Engineer, Judo Master and Educator, Moshe Feldenkrais, D.Sc. (1904 - 1984) developed an extraordinary Method of learning to move and act efficiently and effectively. The process of discovering our unlimited potential as physical beings is also a profound source for deepening self-knowledge.

In an effort to stand "correctly" dancers often interfere with their own strength and flexibility which they have acquired through years of training and stretching. Whereas trying to hold oneself upright causes tension, the act of balancing our bones frees up large muscle groups so they are available to move us through space with a feeling and appearance of effortlessness.

Each of us has experienced moments of effortless movement where everything comes together with ease and grace. Taking the time to become aware of and feel how those moments came about, we may begin to consistently recognize specific details that inhibit and/or allow us to progress.

Dancers find expanding their movement repertoire has an extraordinary effect on their ability to learn new and refine already established technique. Discovering unlimited movement possibilities also feeds choreographic ideas and encourages creativity.

Functional Integration®...

Functional Integration® (FI) was the original form of movement lessons developed by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais. Each lesson is uniquely designed for the individual's needs and requests. Specific gentle touch is used to bring awareness to how one moves, introduce new movement skills and improve overall functioning. Expanding one's movement repertoire opens new possibilities for feeling, moving and acting.
